Another update,

Still no joy from HMRC so, another phone call later, i find out that i wont get it for another 2 weeks!!!!!!!!!!

Reason? - They have picked me for security checks to confirm that i am who i say i am!!!!

Cant see why it would take to ****ing weeks.

Still, they are going to pay me interest of,,,ÂŁ9!!!!!

Generous or what.

If we dont pay what we owe by end of feb, they can fine us ÂŁ100 and charge interest of 5%, does the same apply if they dont pay us what they owe............think not eh!!

In the past when i was unemployed, i paid up all my tax but was a little late and they charged me 100.

I never, ever paid it, told them i didnt have a job and eventually they credited it.

Apparently, there is a loophole in this charge which basically means they cant force you to pay.

BUT, that was a while ago, and i DO NOT recommend anyone tries it now. :D

I got my letter in the post from HMRC that stated how much I was due as a refund and then the cheque came in the post from them the week after, only took a few days to clear! :hurray:

Yes! Omg I didn't even notice that - i'm new to this forum thing. Whoops!

The cheque would definitely be lost in the post if it took two years to surface :tongue3:
