Hello all, im new to the electrical game but have recently passed my 2391 and im still a bit lost so forgive me for any odd questions.

As the title id like to produce some temporary boards to sell as a little side line but i see a few issues in my head and i wonder if anyone could point in the right direction, even if that leads to a "walk away" direction then fair enough.

ive made a board for myself includes a bulkhead light, garage unit with 63a 30ma rcd and 16a, 6a 60898s and two double sockets and test it using my incomer in a couple of hours. the issues i see coming are liability of the board, i can test it using my tails and earth ect but as soon as the board leaves my house the figures are irrelevant as it would be connected to someone elses tails and earth giving different pfc zs ect so if i did make it to sell and issued it a certificate the cert would only confirm ive bulit the board to the regs but then i have a set of open ended 6 mm tails to connect to the meter or fit to the existing installation breaker ect which for a spark is no issue at all but if a joe public bought it to use and gave himself a dose of current then id be the one in the firing line.

Point being could i build and sell a temp board with a cert and disclaimer or just walk away?

Thanks

Mark

Ps: i hope that made sense

Just thinking on his proposal, without knowing sweet fa about the legal side of manufacturing and the responsibility for the various standards required

If this temp board is required.it has to be sold to someone who has the skill to connect it,yes?
If you have the skill to connect, why would you dream of buying a temporary board ?

This is incorrect as the only figures which would be irrelevant are the Zs readings as the supply details would be totally different but your IR, R1 and R2 readings would be the same.

As already said who would you sell them to as any electrician would make their own depending upon what is required.

IMO Most guys i know make their own wee temp boards
mine has RCD c.u mcbs 2 doubles and a 2d bulkhead on it

That fine i was going to aim it at sparks but as you said its something that a spark would build him/herself. i used mine twice now during a rewire and found it invaluable for charging the sds and drills up and keeping the clients tv going for there Jeremy kyle fix.

Ill take the "walk away" feel on this one and just to confirm thanks on the r1 r2 figures being constant i forgot that would be a trait of the board setup itself.

Thanks all the feed back is much appreciated as i am new to this lot and im steadily getting my footing in

As stated the only figures needed from the test results would be the ir and cont readings. Like everyone else I can`t really see a market for it though. I have a temp board and I certainly would not dream of buying one unless the price of it was less than the bits cost me to do it myself. not being critical at all just dont see who you would be selling them too.

I think you'd need product liability insurance as a starter.

I'm also sure you need a CE mark as well but there maybe ways round this, especially as your only producing a few............

BUT THEN AGAIN..... Your only putting together parts that are allready approved so maybe not!!!!!
