I've been asked to tender for a completely new install in a 5 bed detects house conversion(orig 3 bed).

I'm trying to put the tender together against a deadline but keep hitting a brickwall in the area of pricing.

Theres a total of 250 points Inc 110 downlights. I'm to supply all materials except downlights and I have the architects plans with point locations etc. Do I price per point and add the cable or something else. Would like to get te job but if even if I dont I would like to have made a good effort in the tender etc for the chance of future work.

Any advice?

Location is Milton Keynes / Bedford area.

Have you done business with the developer before? If not you're probably being used to beat their normal contractor down.

110 downlights - that's a lot of extra cable.

Have fun

I have done a few smaller jobs with them before. I know it's bot purely price driven. I'm going on quality of service/dependability etc.

Cheers.

i generally base a quote on £40 /point. for a starting figure. obviosly with you 110 downlights, this would be way over the top, so i would then say £40 for 240 points, then £10 each downlight. then i would cost materials and estimate hours at say £20/hour, then come to a figure accordingly.

Sounds a lot of downlighters as well

Looking at the plan, aside from above the basins in the bathrooms & ensuites EVERYTHING is Downlights!

Thanks for that, its a great help.

Festerfly, I'm trying to reply to your PM, but your inbox is full mate.
Also I misread your original post. If it's a rewire allow 1.25 -1.5 hours per point.
