Tennis court lighting

can you not do the calculation yourself? surely if it's legal for you to do this type of work, doing the calc should be a breeze, shouldn't?

Not a particularly helpful first post on a forum.

Maybe the guy isn't used to working out lighting patterns and beam spreads for large outdoor areas - it's not a particularly common day to day job.

Minimum illuminance for recreational tennis: 300–500 lux (≈ 30–50 lumens/sq.ft) per court.Total lumens per court:
Court size: ~2,800 sq.ft (double court, 36m x 18m).

Total needed: 84,000–140,000 lumens (30–50 x 2,800).

Per fixture (6 poles/court): 14,000–23,000 lumens per LED (assuming even distribution).

If it were me id ask how many lumems they require on the playing surface, map out the poles on a diagram with size of playing surface and pole heights then take this information to a lighting specialist and they will do these calculations for you and give you a spec.
