Can anybody advise how much test current is applied when using a 1552 meggar on Zs.

Somebody suggests that it could be as high as 6 amp's?

Thanks

25A on hi. 15mA on no trip. the 25A current sometimes causes breakers to trip.

This is a live test so i think the instrument allows a 40ms window of 25A or 15mA to flow into the machine rather than generating it itself.
However, some testers will do a N-PE loop test where the instrument generates the necessary current.

If you look in GN3 it gives the spec for this test kit, irrelevant of make and model, it must induce a minimum current for a minimum length of time. I will let you look it up. I am not trying to be clever, but GN3 will answer all of the basic test and inspection questions asked, and if you are delving into the insp and test world, treat yourself, its only about ÂŁ25.

Cheers...........Howard
