Is it absolutely necessary to use fused test leads with my 1552., as there is a fuse fitted within the instrument itself.

If do require to get a set of fused leads, is it recommended to buy Megger or will any other brand suffice.

Thanks

Hi

The Megger MFT Series conform to EN61010 and have internal protection so fused test leads maybe waived, however in the event of testing in high energy installations it is recommended that fused leads are used.

It should be mentioned, when using fused test leads, if testing is conducted where the loop impedance is very low the resistance of the fuses will make a difference on the reading, also 500mA fuses may blow if testing across phases.
