Discuss test meter inexperience in the Periodic Inspection Reporting & Certification area at ElectriciansForums.net

In the time you were training did you do any practical testing?

To say you are qualified beggars belief if you can’t understand a basic test set. Have you read the manual?

I’m sorry but you got me annoyed when you say you are “qualified”.

Take a deep breath Tony, it is only a word

As we all know (including the OP I am sure) training/qualifications and experience is a long process and every qualification is just a step on the way. He already said he lacked experience so isn't setting himself out to be something he isn't.

Limagraar,
I would recommend that you look at the post that brman has posted.

The two youtube shows give a very clear and straightforward method of initial inspection and testing of your own work.

The good thing about these 'videos' is that you can watch them over again until it makes sense.

I'd second what BRMAN has suggested plus I would recommend you test circuits in your own home too, its all good experience.

If you've got a Metrel and haven't downloaded and PRINTED the full manual I would suggest you do this as the Metrel printed handbooks you get given are fairly rubbish!
