Went to use my kewtech kt64 today was doing a pfc test and couldnt get a reading the same when i tried to do a earth loop test. Do u reckon my tester could be broke??

Are you doing a three-lead test or a two lead test? If you're doing one, try the other.

What exactly are you doing? Can you explain step by step?

God knows.... have you got a plug end attachment? If so, try doing a Zs test from a socket outlet and see what you get. Sorry, I'm not familiar with your tester. Have you taken a Ze reading on another installation or is this the first you've tried??

Oh, and are the batteries charged?

Up until today it was okay tried doing the test at the socket and still no reading its doing the same at my house so i think i might need repairing

Hmmmm are you using the same leads or are you using 3 leads at the board and a moulded plug lead at the s/o. If you're using the same leads for each test, test your leads. Further than that, I don't know I've got a horrible feeling you've knackered it. Is it in warranty?

Have you tried continuity and IR and is it working

Are there any fuses in the leads or meter and have you checked them

Yeah it works on the other settings and the fuses in the leads r ok and the fuse in the battery compartment is ok as well not sure if ther are any fuses inside the tester itself though cause there are calibration stickers over where it comes apart

There are about a million mini fuses inside which, as I recently found out, do precisely sod all. I wouldn't recommend cracking it open, though, but if it's working OK otherwise I've a feeling it's going to need a visit to the meter hospital.
