Testing after like for like change

You don't need to do any tests as you are only changing fittings. I always do Continuity of CPC as this proves polarity....

Yep. Seems reasonable that you wouldn't need to issue a MWC but as you can tell I'm new and learning. So if I'm not sure I'd rather come on here and see what others think. Thanks

Its a question of judgement. I'm sure there will be many on here who do MWC's all the time and some who do never. Last time I did a MWC on a like for like change was for a rented property so the landlord had a record.

Yes you should issue a MWC for replacement of any accessory. I will be honest and say I dont. I do carry out a Zs on every accessory that i replace, and record the result on the invoice, which i keep a copy of.

I agree with murdoch, where do you draw the line, i can't afford to take a secretary around with me all day.

I wonder what NICEIC, Napit, Elecsa would say - shame they don't offer their "corporate"lines on such subjects!

personally i would do the live tests just for peace of mind

Elecsa say a MWC for all replacements, at least that is what my assessor said last year.
I was also told the same on the 2391 course as well.

Im with Howard on this one , how many times do you find faults on lighting circuits all the time , i always test dead and live tests and issue a minor works , if you change the light fitting and it has no earth you could be opening your self up for prosicution if some thing happens ,test be safe and sleep at night thats what i say
