I have been asked to test an offpeak cdu but what am I to do with the live tests? Do I calculate using them using ze from on peak cdu? Or do I go back at night!? Lol. Also what about schedule of inspection for functional tests??? Cheers

you hang around till the power comes on at 12am!!!

alternatively you LIM the live tests and calculate ZS from R1R2 + ZE (main incomer on live side)

you also LIM the functionaal tests or you disconnect and put you continuity meter either side of the switch!!

Yes, you do as Durham suggests or you energise (safely) the off-peak board from the 24-hour supply for the purpose of live testing.

If this is a periodic inspection then I'd go with Durham, initial verification and I just have to see everything working!

Firstly. Yes it is pir, confusion set in because client had spark who refused to test that board because of the off peak nature!

Secondly. Thanks for that, never thought of doing functional test like that on a storage. Won't the element just give continuity thow ????

You will get a resistance reading through the element(s) but you'll also be able to check the switching of the input thermostat controls.(assuming storage heating)

Cheers guys, I think in order to energise it would involve breaking seal on storm fuse because there is no isolator!? I know what u mean though about seeing everything working. I got to say this forum is the best thing since sliced bread, I am getting loads of answers! Once again many thanks chaps
