Texecom Veritas 8 Stand alone keypad button replacement

Hi,

If anybody has already replaced the keypad buttons on a Texicom Veritas8 stand alone alarm, please would you tell me how to get the old buttons away from their housing. (See photo) I have the engineers code.

Looks like there are two clips holding the front housing. Unclip the front housing and that will reveal the screws attaching it to the panal.
Make sure u power down the panel before attempting.

I should note I am not an alarm engineer, and am just going off what I can see in the photo

I have already tried to undo the clips but no joy. There must be a simple way of doing it. There were no instructions with the replacement kit so if anybody could send me a copy I would much appreciate. I phoned the Texecom support line and all the guy told me was to start by removing the green edge connector and it would be easier to see how to get them out. Not a very clear explanation from a support team. He added it was tricky.

You might have more luck on the Texecom forum website. The the people on there are very helpful, as they are on here of course if you have a sensible question.

Sorry to appear to be a bit thick. I installed the alarm myself in 2012. I like reading and understanding before going ahead.
What is sensible or not is quite subjective.
I asked if anybody had already changed the keypad buttons to help me, Is that unreasonable?

I don't think the response above was questioning the reasonness or not of your question, he was nearly stating a fact. Sometimes on here if people think posters are being unreasonable or not entirely honest, then they will have a go at them.

But I suspect you know this already and took the risk. Unfortunately the first response became a self fulfilling prophecy for you. I'm sure it was not meant to be read like that.

There is on clip either side of the housing press clips inwards to remove outer cover simple as that

@Robert43 I did not mean to imply your question was insensible just that people on the telecom forum may be able to answer your question quicker. I see that jazz has now given you the answer you wanted.
