well it's that time of year again, thumbs constantly splitting etc. any members wear gloves (thin ) does it help at all ,any recommendations cheers .

If you do get a bad one, a big blob of sudocreme and cover with a plaster overnight. In the morning it'll be useable and almost healed.

I suffer with this, wearing cut gloves work. They are tight fitting.

If your skin splits with the cold, an electricians first aid comes into its own.... Use PVC conduit glue to form a waterproof barrier, and wrap insulating tape around, if its a finger. The tighter the better.

never suffered from split skin, but a slight graze on arm/s causes excessive bleeding. bog roll and ins. tape instant fix. when get time, maybe a dressing plaster 3" x 2".

must admit sudocrem does seem to cure all ills,i will try some but also buy assortment of gloves ,will let you know verdict

I was given a box of latex/surgeon type gloves by a customer yesterday and wore them today and they were really good, were blue though and I looked a complete numpty! Superglue helps to seal up splits.
