Since when. I joined last week for my favourite price of £0.00.

What did you join though?

Spin's right in that the minimum to actually join the IET is £123.00 but it's free to register for the forum services etc.

IET membership fees - The IET

Have you actually ordered it? How did you get the discount?
I'm a forum member and adding the book to basket shows a discount total of £0

Exactly Archy, that was what I was expecting, the discount was for IET members, not just forum members.

Why should a free forum membership result in a discount when we have to pay a minimum of £123.00 for IET membership?

Aye, have to wait and see if JUD comes back with an answer.

I think it'll be an order from Amazon for me.

You have to be a subscription paying member of the IET to receive discount on the publications, else there would be many irate fee paying members out there!
Me included!!!

(MIET)

I signed up for forum membership week before last and got it for £60 (£20 discount). Since then the price has dropped to £52.

Here is my invoice:

When I checked out I was asked to sign up for forum membership in order to receive the discount. I picked it up from the courier last night.

JUD,
Can you please post on the forum or PM a link to where the BGB is for sale to non subscription paying members of the IET for £52, coz I will be having very serious words again if this is the case!

I couldn't agree more, absolute disgrace, well done Jud for getting the deal but the IET need to look into this, at the Guidance Note 3 amendment meeting we were promised no discounts other than to paid up members and no discounting to Amazon.

Both seem to have been overlooked!

I googled "17th Edition Ammendment 1" a couple of weeks ago and it pointed me to IET who had the cheapest price at the time.

I added to basket (£80) and went to checkout where I was asked to register for basic membership.

Once registered the discount was applied and I paid.

That's all I can tell you.

Since then the price has dropped from £60 to £52 (member price).

I posted that forum membership is all that is required because that has been my experience.

So did you pay £60 or £52 mate please?

IQ I guess you are on committee there then?
I had to give up when made redundant from my last job as I no longer had the time when running my own company!
I do miss the meetings and visits as I used to get to many interesting places and meet some very interesting people!
Jealous now!

OK,
The £60 was a pre-order price available to all, I can see that.
My gripe is with the availability of the £52 member price to all, sorry I did not make that clear.
Where did you find the £52 price available to all please, as that is a bit wrong.
I kicked up so much of a stink the last time it was cheaper to buy IET publications from Amazon than it was direct as a member, I had a written apology!
Thanks in advance.
