I am solid for the next 3 months doing post office depot remedials with a friend. Was due to start today but has been delayed by a week, however we are still being paid for this week so it is like a paid holiday. Pretty rare for being self employeed, but i have booked work in anyways. Glad to hear you are busy

done 3 jobs last week (2 PV, one a 6 panels water heating job, to finish this week), just sorting out the run in for the next 2 months, but it's looking like we ought to be reasonably busy, just trying to get people to confirm now rather than waiting til the last minute.

bit sick of inquiries from people wanting to get 5 quotes etc who obviously either don't realise, or don't care how much time it actually takes to work up a proper quote. I just worked out that between the 5 companies producing the quote and carrying out a survey there's probably more combined staff costs than on the installation itself, which isn't really conducive to cost reductions in the industry.

Just got the latest stats from DECC, Pv installtion by Capacity is now running at it's lowest rate since August 2011, and in the domestic sector (<4Kw) is at its lowest rate since Juy 2011

in terms of number of installs, is also running at its lowest rate since July 2011. That's at less than one fifth of that rate of installs during the same period last year.....

The same profile is true for commercial installs.

Having said that we were not quiet during the first 7 - 8 months of 2011 ....

The only difference - there are now twice as many MCS certified installers as there were then.

How you finding green deal. Have they sorted out the paper work yet. Much work being done through it over then Eco

we like everyone in the uk involved is doing ECO work at the moment, theres loads of scabby lead companys everywhere bloody parasites we just ignore them

So despite the fact that no indivdual is paying for it (and the Govt scrapped the old 'free insulation' scheme), they'll shout 'SUCCCESS' 'we've done X,000 projects under the green deal since it was launched .....!!! Spinmaster :) When in fact ECO was supposed to be the last resort...

Eco stops march 2015
GD will be running alongside for the public who don't qualify for freebies

Interesting stats Worcester, interestingly we've had lead generators calling us which never is a good sign ! We are in this for the long haul, not too bothered how many installers there are out there, there are tens of thousands electricians it comes down to quality work at the right price. There will be chancers out there and guys under cutting and taking risks but we are confident in what we do and the service we offer. Sales in solar are slow but the calls/referrals we get have close to 100% conversion, as said before there were more customers wanting to spend £10K+ on a system in 2011 than it is now with same return at half the price....very strange !

We are getting three to four sales per week......which is enough for us as there are only the two of us....Right now we have 18 installations booked in.....We've been this way now since the back end of last summer...

So we have had our consumer credit license come through now and heading for Green deal provider status things are looking up without a solar installation
