Morning lads,

For those of you who are aware i have been enduring a long and exasperating court case with a non-payer. Anyway, the good news is.......I won!!!

The bugger has to pay the full amount due, minus £300 for the ceiling repair which i conceded to pay the day my colleague put his foot through it! So I am not at all upset about that.

I am not concerned anymore about posting this in the public sector, should he wish to troll the internet and see it, he will simply highlight the fact to him he needs to get back out in his taxi, and earn my damn money!!! haha.

The judge ruled in summary, he was a total plonker and had no case at all, the reasons for non-payment were total farces and i should be awarded the total sum of £1995 minus the money for the re-plastering of the ceiling.

So happy happy days, justice can be served after all :D

A big thanks to everyone who has supported me through this, and sat through my endless whinging :)

Ben

Yo Ben

Wicked man! Nice one. Chuffed for you. Let us know how the next bit goes. The balls well & truly in his court and superglued to the floor. If he coughs you get your money, if not then hes just digging a deeper hole....

So far i have not heard from him, but no news is good news at this present time i guess. I think he would be a FOOL spoken in true Mr.T fashion not to pay me. Apparently there are a few handy lads on this forum who take a dislike to non-payers, some who use to knock on their doors for a living too.... either way, i hugely appreciate all your kind words and support fellas,

What this forum needs is a tip jar, not thanks buttons. For every time a good service is done, and the forum collectively gets together to back someone, or support someone, we should have a tip jar the said person add to that goes up and up until we can all meet up mid way around the country somewhere, and buy gallons upon gallons of ale with it.

Food for thought :D

Congratulations Wade, I'm really pleased you got the result you wanted. It's nice to see the system works.

It hasn't worked yet - and it will not have worked until our Friend has the money owed to him safely stashed in his pocket.

I really don't mean to pee on his bonfire, but the hard fact is that getting judgement awarded and actually getting the money from the debtor are two entirely different things and I found out - to my cost - that if someone has made their mind up that they aren't going to pay you then they won't .... no matter what the court says or does !!

You may find yourself in the situation where the debtor makes an arrangement to pay something like £1 per month & sticks to this arrangement for say 6 months then defaults, then it's back to the court again & this can go on forever.

There are however, "other" ways ......

That said: I do hope Wade gets his money without any more hassle.

Would one be within ones rights and go round, open the meter cupboard, turn the isolation switch off and super-glue it in that position and add a welded padlock to the same?

Luckily any stings I've had are for small amounts (taps head, touch wood!) But I'm sure re-presenting the bounced £40 cheque a few times will have cost them more!

Congrats Ben. Don't let up on him as I have got plenty of CCJ's against kn#bs that don't pay and your not there yet. I have one half wit paying £0.50p a month and it costs my £0.45p to bank his cheque. If he owns his own house give him one chance then move straight to putting a charge on it.

Good luck
