I just watched the Daily Politics show on BBC2. Caroline Flint MP was a guest but most of the programmae was spent discussing the NHS rather than FiTs.

Welcome to the club. I believe DECC are members too. The more I read about it the more unanswered (and probably unanswerable) questions it throws up. And the b*llsh*t bingo playing suits on places like LinkedIn seem to have it all sewn up - one-stop-shop providers raking it in, paying installers peanuts for shoddy, quick installations. Small companies or those keen to uphold decent quality standards need not apply..... Still, all the additional hoops we'll be required to jump through to scrape by on PV will keep us busy. Just as well eh?

Proposed customer journey for the Green Deal, interesting site, shows the new EPC too which demonstrated savings that can be achieved over 3 years via energy efficiency and renewables instead of annually. Interesting that the example shows over 2k of savings but at the top but the energy efficiency measures add up to just over 1k. You'd have thought they would have got the example right ....

I'd heard this week that CERT was being extended for 6 months - I assume this is why. I bet green Deal in October will just be insulation the same as the last few years but with a different name.

Heard today from a training provider that if a green Deal assessor recommends the best/most efficient use of the green deal loan is installation of a condensing gas or oil combi it will attract the RHI to pay for the Green deal loan!

Looks to me like RHI has been impacted by the Fit shambles. There's been a really poor take up so far.

I'm hearing through my grapevine that internal and external wall insulation are going to be the key measures on green Deal and the rest are going to take quite a while to get going ie a couple of years. These are people who are working with DECC, the big 6 and local authorities - they are usually pretty well informed.

Did you hear that from a reliable source? I find it incredible. It is completely outside the scope of the RHI as it has been presented so far.

Couldn't believe it myself. We attended a renewables open day at a local training establishment (free pasty and the promise of funding for training) there was seminars on the green deal and the RHI.

The argument apparently is that a new boiler is better than a 20 year old boiler and the only way to get it changed is to provide the RHI so that the green deal loan can be paid off (with an attractive interest rate for tesco/B&Q/big 6 and the rest of them).

Have not heard this anywhere else i must add...

DECC released details of an extended RHPP (for domestic RHI) yesterday, coming in from April.

Talking about domestic RHI they also said: "Proposals will be consulted upon in September at which point a firmer timetable for the launch of a scheme will be published, although it is anticipated this will be from summer 2013. Given this, the tariffs set out by the previous government in the consultation document in February 2010 should not be used as a basis for predicting what future support may be."

which to me means that not only will the anticipated RHI rates be slashed but that the Green Deal will be similarly delayed.
