Mid 30’s and got into the building game temporarily during Covid, before getting back into my old industry at a new role in London.
Decided to take the long and windy road to get my NVQ3 while still on my main job after another recent stint doing the main contracting on a family member’s fixer upper.
Have started bashing out the level 2 theory and once that’s done plan is to get a level 2 diploma from AbleSkills -> ECS laborer card followed by agency work on weekends/days off.
Haven’t planned further than that, I always enjoyed building work, and I enjoyed helping the sparks the most during my stint in the trades.
Anyways hello everyone, I figure if I need to suffer through my mid life crisis then I might as well bring some random internet strangers along for the ride.

Hey! It seems like you’ve had quite an exciting and challenging journey so far—it’s clearly not been the "easy and straightforward" path, but honestly, that’s what makes it interesting! Getting back into technical work while managing your main job and taking on family projects really shows your dedication. Truly admirable!

Cheers mate
