Afternoon everyone..

Just wondered how the snow had affected everyone?

School was closed thursday/friday so I had my boy at home and cancelled postponed my jobs for those 2 days. We went sledging!!! Then we played board games, watched films and had a big bar of Toblerone:)

However, it is now Saturday and I want to get back to work!:D

snowed off job wednesday as a blizzard set in at 2.00pm. back in monday as boarder can't finish boardin studding till i get all my cables in place. so he going to have to labour for me for a few hours.

Worked Thursday and Friday ................... most people stayed at home, schools and colleges were closed, the roads were clear ............ bliss!

tried to work Thursday but so damn cold, went back home, Was meant to be wiring up a garage but was like a freezer inside.
Friday, I did not even bother apart from walking along the road via the park to do a quote. On the positive side i have caught up with all the business admin.
Given the cold weather out came the slow cooker in the morning, chop up the veg, a jug of chicken stock add some chicken breasts, hey presto... four hours later.. chicken and veg stew...

It has been a marvellous excuse to stop all work and hunker in at home (a bit like @telectrix's dog in previous post) and play with the grandkids and forget I ever worked. Back to the harness now though as it is thawing (boring).

Pretty much carried on as normal, had a couple of early finishes but my lads got out and about without complaining so I haď to do the same.

Outside every day:) couldn't believe the run of exterior duties...

There has been some wind damage, and usual excuses for non-shows and delivery failures,but...

As others, stick close to me kin,slow-cooker on,Musto thermals at the ready...truth be told,i love it:)

I was due to be working in London Thursday and Friday but I postponed that until next week because there’s no way the trains would be running with any reliability.
Instead I had two consecutive days off for the first time this year.

I saw the forecast on Monday and decided to keep Thurs and Fri free. Got stuck in van twice on Tuesday and after doing a little job Wednesday morning I packed in and went home. Next 3 days spent sledging, building snowies and Lego!
I felt like I was on holiday tbh, had a couple of emails and stuff to send but was generally in holiday mode. Probably had 5-9 inches here near South Shields. Hard to tell though with the drifting. I drove out every day for various supplies etc and it was apocalyptic looking in some places.

A bit of snow here (a few inches) but urban and flat, did an EICR on a vacant property on Thursday, turned up to find (a) no cut-out fuse (!?!) and (b) the consumer units in the garage which, although being part of the house, required me to go out the back door of the garage and in to the kitchen to get to the house. All the storage and panel heaters had been stripped. No water. I had come prepared with tea bags, kettle, milk etc but the lack of cut-out fuse really threw me! I just worked through it and cracked on.

Friday I had a customer who contacted me on Wednesday to say, "We've got no power to the boiler, we're sure it's an electrical problem." Considering the cold, conditions etc I prioritised this job to help them out... turned up to a beautiful warm house with central heating on full blast; the problem had occurred a few months ago, they had disconnected the boiler from the SFCU and put it on a plug top with an extension lead, so really wasn't as urgent as I had thought! I just smiled and enjoyed working in the nice, lovely warm house. :)

Had Friday afternoon off and made a snowman and had a snowball fight with my lad. :) Ready for him to go back to school now.

Was not too bad really got stuck on the A15 on thursday for about 2 hours due to traffic but other than that work as usual.

Was at a bungalow on friday 1st fixing and bungalow had no windows or door so was absolutly freezing in there.
