Dear community...

I was replacing a light fitting in the kitchen so I had to open up the ceiling rose. There is a cable feeding power that comes in from another rose, the cable with the switch wires.....but there are two cables going from it.

One, I assume is going to another light fitting...but, where does the second cable go to? There is a fan in the kitchen, but that is fed from the kitchen power circuit via a FCU.

Any suggestions very welcome and appreciated.

Cheers,

Wayne :confused5:

It could be simply whoever wired it originaly did not loop the circuit properly and then fed another light from that same rose.
Quite common in houses to have strange unknown wires powering items that should not be on the circuit, could be wall lights if they have any that were put in at a later date !! or could be going nowere sitting in a JB waiting for someone to find it.

a photo of the rose with the cover off might help. you may find a loop out T/E with the L in the centre terminal, and a sw.T/E to a second fitting, L from the S/L terminal.
