Just sitting here and thought of this. New combi boilers. What size cable do you run for them? Been putting them on a thier own separate radial circuit for years but I automatically run 2.5mm but I guess a 1.5mm is fine these days as only a 3amp is needed on the old fuse spur. Anyone else install things out of habit that’s now over kill?

Always 2.5 for any power circuit

Just in case for example home owner moves boiler can then turn boiler spur into a double socket

Some on here will only use 1.5mm on domestic lighting. I **** in their tea, flipping trying to get that in some recent loop in/out downlights, and trying to ran in some 2 gang dimmer in the (devil's carnation) 20mm back box. I spit in your face. :)

Litrelly never installed a piece of 1mm cable. Always 1.5mm.

I know it technically complies but i think changing the device to a B20 is my ‘preferred’ option if converting a boiler supply to a double 13a socket

Just my preference

20Amp radial socket circuit quite correct Dd. Standard socket radial circuit isn't it?

I've never wired central heating in 2.5mm^2 - there is absolutely no point when the entire system is typically fed through a 3A BS 1362 fuse anyway.

I have always wired them in 1.5mm^2 and see no reason to change it.

A B6 or B10 and all's k00l.
