I've heard wiska boxes etc and external protection mentioned but nobody has mentioned that the cable should be protected in the the cavity that it would pass.

This should be done with mechanical protection to protect against falling debris that may take place in the cavity that T&E would not withstand.

lol phil I bet there is plenty of women that would want a pink roof too!

I have had to install an additional socket in a conservatory this way. The customer wanted to put a LCD TV on the wall but did not want any chasing out or trunkings and wanted the socket and ariel points hidden behind the TV. I drilled out of the back of a double socket box,ran the cable down the wall along & back up. I used white sheathed FP200 cable (armoured & suitable for external use) protected by the conservatory RCD Fused spur and carefully cut out the dot & dabbed plasterboard to fit the Galv backbox. The ciustomer was well chuffed with the finished job as there was NO redecorating or filling or making good, they didn't care about the cable on the outside of the wall as down that side of the conservatory was the wheelie bin storage.
