Thoughts?

Hi guys, what's your thoughts? Ripped off or fair price?

Had an inspection report carried out on my electrics as solicitor requested them upon sale of my house and bill has just landed on my door mat for £205.

On the bill it's noted 3 additions as below:

1) fit gromet to metal box (1 x missing)
2) change 2 x mcbs in board
3) fault find ring main (wire loose in bedroom socket)

I wasn't here at the time as I was working away but my mrs said he spent 2 hours here?

As mentioned, if he was there just for the EICR, doing remedial's without discussing it with you is a bit cheeky.

Couldn't agree more dave .... I raised that in my early post - as you say, any remedials should have been discussed and a estimate given for them.

We may find that because it was a solicitors request there may also have been instructions to carry out remedial up to a certain price, and he did the work.

Also a woman's couple of hours is often in a different parallel to us men. My wife often tells me ready in a few minutes and 2 hours later I'm still waiting so he may have been there a tad longer.

What would be interesting is bonding sizes, unless the installation was done to the 17th there are few pre 17th installations that have the correct size bonding. Not saying this installation didn't but be interesting to see.

Bonding sizes haven't changed from the 16th
