Tightening Positive Battery Terminal, Hit Chassis and Shorted Out?

Well it's a dirt bike, so it doesn't have many sensors. The only sensor in it is a pulse generator which is inside the flywheel cover for the ignition, and it's a carburettor powered dirt bike so the only sensor on that is the throttle position sensor.
The only other components are the digital ignition box(provides spark and what the TPS is connected to), and ignition coil, and obviously starter motor that is connected into a solenoid with 2 fuses(that the positive battery cable also connects into). It's all connected into the 1 main wiring loom but protected by those two 10 amp fuses.
The only things that run when the bike is off is obviously the electric starter and horn and indicators. It doesn't have an ECU as such.

I think the ambiguity is coming from the term 'dirt bike'.

...Like the Maico,i had a 490 as a youth,it gave me some great revision time,as i healed from the injuries it presented to me...

Everything was fixed with clips and studs, even the exhaust was retained entirely with springs. Every major spill, was followed by a collection and inventory,of seats, tanks, panels, airboxes and exhaust pieces...

She never once failed the big ascent on Tyldesley slag heaps

I had the 440 similar to the picture. Every time I go through an airport and the pins in my ankle set off the scanner alarm the memories of the love-hate relationship I used to have with it come flooding back.

Always a love-hate relationship with bikes. Hope the pins and surgeries was well worth it though!

All part of life's rich tapestry and the learning curves we go through, I also have a small plate on my skull from a psychotic ex-girlfriend but if it came to a one on one showdown I think the 440 Maico was more feisty and less predictable (and possibly more fun to ride :)).

Lol well said. Spose we all feel that way bout ex gf's.

They give stalwart, dependable service,if ridden properly, and with purpose......and the motorbikes are the same :20:

Sorry to re-post.
How about melting of wires based on what happened? And which wires would be affected if so?

Any damaged wiring would be limited to the wire that connects the -ve side of the battery to the frame of the bike and would be pretty obvious. It's highly unlikely if it was a quick short circuit and you'd also have smelled the burning insulation when the mishap occurred.

Is the bike running fine? Have you ridden it?

You wont have buggered anything aside from, potentially, the battery. Stop worrying you'd know by now if anything else was goosed.

*SLAP* - Thats for even thinking about touching the positive terminal with the negative still connected.
