Can I have feed from load side of a timer powering a contractor which when energised allows a different feed from a different distribution board to liven up a load.

What I have there is a normal light point with s/l and permanent feed. Customer wants it to work off timer. Only thing is no neutral. So I'm planning on taking permanent feed from a spur to contractor to timer then iin with my permanent frm lighting circuit and energise switched live, does this make sense

You will need to mark it up as dual supplies isolate else where etc or provide an adequate isolator to isolate all supplies.

Not quite following the rest of your wiring plan though got a diagram?

Sorry if my questions seem daft just trying to set a picture in my mind of what u are trying to do. You can feed the time clock from a spur fused down to 3amps and then take a L to the A1 of the coil and N to the A2 of the coil from the load/switched side of the timer. Then put you lighting permanent feed into the top of the contractor and then your switch line at the bottom of the contractor. These really should be fed of the same db tho and if they are different phases labelled with a danger 400v sticker and also labelled with dual supply and a nice little label saying which circuits are in the enclosure

Egg and Dan before you go any further its a contactor not a contractor.... i hope its just a repeated typo and you dont call it that as it may may you look silly to the customer.... just a polite pointing of an error mate.
