Fair enough.Rules are made up as they go alongseems to depend on who you work for mac, if your a spark then its a big no no, but suppliers can do as they please
we know that its not permitted neil as i have already stated. check where i am based tooIn regards to the supplier clamping, down my way in South-east Essex they are not allowed to clamp, it has to be sweated or changed to TNCS.
The engineer turned up in the middle of a re-wire, to do the works and went for the easy option a steal braided, wrap with a steel clamp with allen key screws to tighten (not seen one before, sort of thing you use on a submarine/swa joint). We were happy, but he submitted his report and since the supplier has contacted my custoemr and siad they will dig up the path to isolate and do the job properly as the first engineer had not, Standard earth clamps are not permitted, as someone has already put, incase they damage the incoming protection...it is a reg...but where i don't know
