Evenin' all,

I've got a wooden cabin to connect up+ install CU at the bottom of a garden. about 15m away from house supply. (TN-C-S)

cabin has been "wired" by the owner:eek:. all cables just clipped direct to the ply walls. no trunking. (lights in 2.5/1.5)!
It generally complies (the odd bend radius needs sorting) and looks like a dog's dinner, but it's safe, and will comply when I've finished.

Cabin already has a 6/2.5 feed from house CU buried in plastic pipe on a 40A 60898 on a 30mA RCD.

There are no services to the cabin (water/gas etc) , and the cabin is constructed exclusively from wood & glass ie, no extraneous conductive bits.

BRB says that 2.5mm earthing conductor is ok if mechanically protected + sheathed, the question is.........

Should I TT it or not?

any suggestions/opinions appreciated

bless yer

Cheers chaps:)

Do I need to ask DNO's permission or just get on with it? (extending PME 'n all that)

No TT. Just get on with it:).

Nothing to do with the DNO on the consumer side - as long as you comply with BS7671. (That's what they told me when I asked)

Nope (except in certain circumstances), but then they're generally attached to the building and not used to attach an extention lead that'll be used even further down the garden.

Judge it based on the risks (if any).
