Significantly better than my method of screwdriver bit and a pair of pliers. :D

I used that method for years, but managed to pinch my skin in the pliers when they inevitably slipped one too many times and forked out all of about £2.50 for the little ratchet gadget.
 
Something similar to this, it comes in handy so many times.
I think I originally bought it when I was wiring a lot of boilers and getting annoyed with programmers fitted above kitchen worktops where you can't get a normal screwdriver in to the locking screws underneath.

Can you remember where you bought this?

I've looked at similar ratchets before, but they always had a very deep head or odd shaped shaft. This is by far the best design I've ever seen, with exceptionally low profile head and shaft.

I can't find the exact one I have on there now, its a bit different to the one in the picture I posted.

Took a quick look there before asking. Most of the cheap options are a bit bulky, but can pick up a similar ratchet bundled with cheese grade bits.

got one just like that. similar problem but in my case it was underfloor stats fitted only 2" above worktop.
 
What tools do you guys use that you don’t need as a necessity but once you get they make your life that much easier? For example knipex installation pliers/ ck armour slice/ ck cable tongue
