Need some advice on my first sparky tool kit. There are so many different makes out there i cant decide. I am only working on the domestic side so any advice would be appreciated.

First requirement is a large teflon overcoat, closely followed by a big hammer and bolster chisel.
Anymore suggestions boys and girls, let the fun and games commence..........................

Lenny. Many thanks i have actually been looking at that one. It seems to have everything that you need bar the power tool side of course. Anything else would be great info.

You'll also want to add a decent voltage indicator, multifunction tester, cable shears. I also find the long shaft screwdrivers useful (but they're not often insulated). If you can justify it: a low range (0-100ma or so), low resolution (<=0.01 mA) clamp meter.

Good point TQ, ...I think every electrician should have a mA clamp meter these days, as part of there test kit!!

I second the Fluke T5-1000 being brilliant. My dad bought me one when i 1st started college a couple of years ago, love it!

yea CK tool kit was my first tool kit and only paid a 100 quid for it. Agree with the voltage screwdriver, throw it along with the CK side cutters not even big enough to cut 1.0mm cable

Where do you live as I have three toolboxes full of Brand new kit that was aquired when my previous employer went belly up and as I am off the spanners now would gladly help any poor soul who is contemplating the life of a sparky.

sirtaffy. Well i am currently living in cyprus but will be settling down in mold once i get out in a few years time. Or my parents are in the north east - newcastle. Interested in what you have
