2005 Camry. Yesterday the headlights started to play up with an interesting issue. When the ignition is on + the light switch on the steering is on, the low beams do not light up. However when the high beams are turned on, both the high and low lights are on. All or nothing it seems.

I thought it may have been the relays, so checked the two in the under bonnet panel ( Dim & HL-P ) both are activating and have working contacts.
So, I am running out of ideas now.

Your thoughts and tips appreciated.

PROBLEM SOLVED - it was 2 x faulty H4 bulbs with both low elements blown, not sure why they both blew. If it happens again, then will have to see what caused it.

Just looking on eBay now as I will need to get at least one pair for the farm ute.
be careful with ebay. a otof the H4 LEDs say they fir, but you can only ever get either the hi or low to work but not both. i'll try and send you a link to the ones I bought. they,ve been in service for 2 years.

wattages quoted on ebay are misleading as the actual cunsumption of LEDs is lower than halogens. the link i sent says 200watts, but that is probably the halogen equivalent. 200 watts (actual) would blow your fuses.

I would check the charging voltage at your battery, just in case there is a fault which is causing it to have risen too high. Might explain both bulbs blowing. Also check all your other lamps to make sure they are still OK.
