Righteo.

Some of you may have noticed the Trainee section of the forum that I've created.

We'll hopefully end up with a bunch of guys in there who going through their training.

While they can share their own advice and chat about their different training providers and courses they're taking etc, I'd like to see a few heavily experienced guys in there who don't mind helping trainees with their questions they might have.

So perfect candidates for the guys would be lecturers, assessors, just really experienced sparky's - that sort of jazz.

Clearly we don't want any of the "Electrical Trainee Bashers" in there. So if you have a problem with 'them' (trainees), don't bother replying to this thread for me please. :)

So if you want to give me a shout either in this thread or via PM with the title "trainees" or something, I'll consider you all after having a natter with the moderators and Jase and whatnot.

Yes apprentices and trainees. I was sort of generalising heavily there.

Basically if somebody is new to the trade, or is nearly in the trade and is doing a course. Whether at college or private training centre, or even online - they can apply here to gain access to the private forum.

Announcements - Trainees Only

Then.. we're looking for very very experienced guys who are willing like JohnBoy, to help with their questions and answers.

Aim is: we encourage them to ask anything no matter how "daft" (my old man said any question asked is not a daft one - found a few since then he thought were daft but you get the drift) and for experienced sparks to help guide them to the answer (not always give it to them obviously).

It's a sort of learning hub that's FREE.

Obviously the trainees and apprentices can still ask in the main forums but it'll help with anybody who feels they've been laughed at a bit or feel they have caused the old "Electrical Trainee" argument up again.

Is it possible to set th apprentice/trainee forum as 'view only' for interested parties who don't fall into either (trainee or font of knowledge) category?

I ask because some of the questions asked get the grey matter working, and sometimes the answers give a new approach or insight.

No I'd fear those asking questions could still get flamed in the main forums once people knew.

I'd much rather just let in those who are interested, and those who can help.

Then clearly the main forums are still open to all still.

I'd be up for it.

Thanks kindly Trev. :)

It's not true what they say about you I'll make sure I correct them next time mate.

Dan I have been screaming out for this for the past 2 years (and many others). Thank God you've done it at last.

I'm in. I can help out with the 2330 level 2 and 3, 17th and most of the 2391 (soon to be 2394 & 2395).

Sign me up long as Widdler is on board, this was his idea in the first place and he can structure this in ways that normal members cant. Trust me.
