Someone is asked me to have a look at a transformer in an LED fitting they have checked that it is not the fitting itself but they think it's definitely the Transformer inside it, does anyone have any thoughts or ideas about the best thing to do or how to fix the transformer or would it be best to just replace it and fit a new one?
Thanks in advance!

Check that there's a 230V supply to the light fitting first. If there is the problem will either be the transformer/driver or the LEDs themselves. In most cases it's the driver at fault.

Has it always been an LED fitting or was it a halogen fitting that's been converted to LED? If it's a conversion, it could be that the LEDs don't draw enough current for the existing transformer which may have a 20W minimum or similar.

If it looks like the driver/transformer at fault, you can buy replacements. They are not usually repairable.
