I have a light fitting which has 4 x 35w halogen bulbs, it is on a 4 gang dimmer switch, the light fitting originally came with a non-dimmable transformer I fitting a 150w Varilight (I think that's the make) dimmable transformer about 2 years ago and that lasted until recently when the it started playing up with the brightness of the light going up and down then finally it would not come on at all. I changed the transformer for a new one exactly the same and that only lasted a few days, i then fitted another new transformer and that has lasted only a couple of weeks and will not come on at all now. Could the problem lie with the dimmer switch? Just thought also on this light fitting I have a single halogen fitting with a 35w bulb so that would make the total wattage 175w do you think I have been overloading the transformer and I should fit maybe a 200w transformer?
