just trying to understand somehing i prob knew at one stage -anyway

i get the idea on parallel/series with separate windings

but if the secondary is centre tapped say 6-0-6 (12volt 10VA)

how do you connect for 6v 10va

can you get 6v 10va with the centre tapped 12v secondary

10VA is just the rating of the transformer. if you must have 10VA connect your 6V to a load that will draw 1.666amps, am i totally misunderstanding your question??

think i know what you mean now, the total available output is 10VA, if you used two 6V supplies from the secondary they would be 5VA each, so im guessing if you only use one 6V supply from the secondary 10VA should be available

with the dual secondary windings in the link above -the windings are simply paralleled to give 6v 10va

or series connected for 12v 10va


with the split-phase(or centre tapped ) secondary you can connect 2 6v 5va loads but not one 6v 10va load


the neutral or centre tap carries no current if the 2 6v loads are balanced

i think that's it anyway
