Hi

I dont have the money to buy the newest edition at the moment. But need to study something
Is each edition so different that id be wasting time studying from say fifth edition of basic electrical installation? The newest if seventh edition

You would start with the most up to date edition as possible. In any subject.

basics have not changed, only regs.updated. for that you need latest BS7671, but the book you refer to should not have changed appreciably.
