Hi fellas quick enquiry regarding the above.

Went to an installation yesterday with this layout: cut out - 60A metal switched fuse - plastic consumer unit. All equipment fitted at a height of 2.8 meters, all conductors and main tails in trunking. Does a 100mA RCD need to be installed to protect the tails?

Thanks in advance

Because the switch fuse is metal,I believe where the tails eneter the switchfuse, they need to do so via a suitable plastic bush or grommett, otherwise rcd protection is required
That apparently is the guidance for a metal clad consumer unit,so I take it the switch fuse requirement is the same

Correct

The tails would need to be secured as well as bushed....bushing alone would not be deemed adequate to prevent possible short circuit to metal enclosures on the supply side of any rcd's.
