Hi Guys
House is tt garage is 2 foot away alongside the house was going to feed garage in 6mm twin and earth because if has a load from 17th dual rcd board should I rod the garage and ignore the house earth or use it ? Will be into garage unit for sockets and lighting.
Thanks in advance for any opinions :)

Hello everyone, this is my first post.
Looking at earth electrode resistance testing is there any benefit to installing earth rods close together or would the electrode resistance area of each rod be higher if placed further apart?

Any views on the maths and/or science of this matter greatly appreciated.

Hi AIM & welcome to the forums :)

I think the general rule is to install the second rod the same distance away as the depth of the first rod.

e.g. if your first rod is 1m in the ground you would put the second rod 1m away.

If I'm wrong I'm sure someone will correct me.
