A guy has shop down road and says the back room (2mx2m) with toilet and wash hand basin is damp as no heat in there, i was thinking maybe one of them tubular heaters 50w a ft,

can these heaters run constantly or do they need control.. I.e timer .... Will this room just sweat like a church untill dried out??? Im all ears AND TY

Tubular heaters are ideal, they don't need to be on a timer or even a thermostat just a fused switched spur they will still work ok, I think a thermostat set to a toasty temperature is best though....what to do is to get an RCD spur, fit that in the wall and then connect it side by side via one of the nifty thermostat units that are the same size, they sell them in Screwfix, they are on special offer in the sale just now, got a flyer in the post the other day....and they have a boost button with an LED selector on them as well that selects 15 minutes, 30 minutes,45 minutes, 1 hour, 1 1/2 hours or 2 hours ...

some times you get akot of damp due to poor ventalation you could install a extractor fan with a humidity stat as wel as a heater depending how damp it gets in there tumble dryers and drying clothes on radiators are the most common things to cause damp in small rooms

They drying clothes in their and just no heat, is a fan present, but get the point, I've seen them 2/1 kw heaters but thought tubular would of been better and cheaper to run. With stat on it .

how many amps can them stats heating) control??? If was to use 2kw heater.

Use the 1kw switch inside bud, only 4.3 amps ish at 230 volt and it can run off a frost stat rated at 20 amps which I use regulary and the cost would be minimal.

well you can use a room stat if you like, I tend to use a frost for pipe protection against bursting and set the stat at 5 degrees, I suppose it is dependant on the customers requirements, easy either way fella.
