Do new apprentices still get the old question how to install tunnel lighting, where walking down a tunnel. 20 switches and 20 lights are installed at 10m intervals. the first switch turns the first light on, the second switch turns the first light off but also switches the second light on and so on down the tunnel, so always the the light behind goes off and the one in front comes on. Only 1-gang switches can be used, no relays contactors and it will work no matter which direction you enter the tunnel.

...that was a laugh some of the diagrams were very complicated including my first attempt
Do apprentices do stuff like this now?

Mm, that would have to be 15kw (80 amp pull cord) or utilise a contactor..
Ok, only joking, i know now incandescent are banned, they use an 20w energy saving lamp (because that's equivalent to 15,000 watts, ships in danger at sea can see the light from as far away as 6ft...;-)

My mate down the road saids he frinks hes onlys need 1 x 1 way switchy at the first light in the tunnels and at everyothers of lighties he would use 1 x 2way switchies hed say sumfring about live to commens at last lighty swich at far ends and l2 linkingging to commoms of the nxt switchy coming backwards to the next swiches and repeating all way bak to first swithy with a 1 x ways swithchy but I fink hes stupids does everyones agreeees

I guess the easiest way would be to run a supply from ignition /aux via a relay that drops the supply when the lights are on.
