Hi, In Norway from 1 July 2011 an automatic shut-off device is required in all new electric stove installations (Norwegian standard NEK 400:2010 Electrical low voltage installations. Part 400-8-823 residential buildings). Does anyone know how this is being complied with, or how I can find out? I searched but cant find any reference to it either by electrical companies or by kitchen fitters.

Thanks

Thought you were looking for an App to remotely turn off a cooker...

Maybe by using a no volt release device on the supply, to prevent the cooker coming back on after a power failure

Forget that rubbish above, see this, it's for Fire prevention overheating;

Lol, my built-in spam detector is alarming and it has a flashing red LED as well.

I have a few questions Tripactivator.

What is your interest in Norwegian fire and installation regulations motivated by given you're located in Devon?

If you have an oil fire on a stove, how will turning off the power extinguish the fire? Surely this is closing the stable door after the horse has bolted...

Hi, we understand that it is a legal requirement to fit a devise to automatically cut the power to a cooker when there is the potential risk of a fire. (Norwegian standard NEK 400:2010 Electrical low voltage installations. Part 400-8-823 residential buildings). So his must being achieved somehow, yet we can not find any reference to it. It is odd! So I am looking for someone in Norway be they an Electrician or a kitchen fitter to explain how this is being complied with? Yes we manufacture such a product.

No problem, good luck finding the info but please don't post unauthorised advertising.

Thanks.
