TV Remote stopped working

Hi, some days ago my TV remote (Toshiba) stopped working magically. If I'm looking through the camera of The Phone, I can see the IR sensor flashing constantly, WITHOUT pushing any Buttton. I soldered a different IR Led and condenser but it still constantly flashes. I don't know what I could do next to get the remote working. Also tried pushing every Button without batteries inside.

I think it's a Toshiba thing...
I bought a new CT-8023 Toshiba remote, did all the tests, IR flashed on phone when I pushed the buttons, spent hours online trying all the so-called "fixes", but to no avail. it just will not work the TV. I bought an admittedly more expensive multiple device which paired easily and works perfectly.
Maybe in lockdown I might try again, but I doubt it. The all-in-one is perfect.

If you can see it flashing without pressing any buttons then I suspect a stuck button or liquid ingress.

It reminds me of a really nice TV in Currys advertised for sale at £10 because the volume control didn't work - I couldn't turn that down !
