Surely a grommit is easier to fit than chasing out 20mm deep up a wall?
I agree it would look good, but who would see it after mr plaster man kindly skimmed the wall?

personal preference and I know it's there even once it been plastered over I always like to think someone will come around afterwards and say to themselves he did a good job on this and remark to the customer, I know the flip side to this is they would probably think waste of time and no point but it's just how I like doing it. Do you use conduit saddlers aswell?

Have tried using Crampet fixings they work quite well but you have to go a little deep to get them below the surface. Usually use two screws either side of the conduit and get the heads to nip it in I use Orbix Pan heads they have large heads that overlap the conduit quite nicely.
