So I was reading professional electrician the other evening, and in there was an advert for twist on connectors.

Much like the ones from the 60s/70s? and what you find in all of north America.

Has anyone started using these again? If so are they any good?

My theory been, if the Americans like using these, they must be quick and easy?

Also do the regulations allow for these?

Cheers

I can't understand why anyone would use them when there's wagos or line products connectors available at reasonable prices.

We use the odd ceramic screw-on connector for high temp applications such as autoclaves but even then I'm not keen on them.

Yep,they are the devils'choice of connector.Found them in abundance on M.O.D tackle (genys, workshop heaters and floods) Incapable of tolerating vibration and touch one - the others all come loose in sympathy! E 54s' right, the Yankees should pay us reparation of a pound for each one we find. :freak:

So currently the opinion is the Americans can keep them.

:patriot:

I'm gonna have a play over the weekend with some testers and connection combinations.

Keep the opinions coming guys.

:29:
