Hi all, its been a while.
Is there a reason why I cannot have two separate shaver sockets in a bathroom.
Failed EICR section 6.3, "More than one item of equipment providing electrical separation in one room (2 shaver sockets)"

Thanks

I don’t believe it is a breach of regs, will have a look later at the wording and check.

It is an interesting point but I believe Regulation 701.413 means that electrical separation shall only supply one single socket-outlet which a shaver socket does. Even with two shaver sockets each point of electrical separation still only supplies its own individual socket-outlet. That's how I see it.

That would make sense
2 sockets from the same isolated supply, could have a faults with 2 appliances giving a possible fault path through someone holding both.

2 separate isolation transformers, means the appliances can both have a fault and there is no current path through a person holding them.

I thought the regulation probably being referred to precludes an equipment providing electrical separation being simultaneously connected to more than one load.
But two shaver sockets each with electrical separation is not that situation.

Hi, if both of these shaver sockets are proper ones with built in isolation transformers then I don’t see a problem as there will be no potential difference between them and hence no safety problems.
