Hi All,

Can a roller shutter door be operated from two positions, inside and out?

There is currently a key switch outside and would like an up/down switch inside if possible.

Any help with this matter is appreciated.

thanks

Dean

The key switch, if it's the same type as on my roller doors, (centre off position, spring loaded return to centre, turn one way for open and the other for close), is effectively two pushbuttons, which can be paralleled with any number of more pushbuttons.
If a button in the key switch is normally open, then the additional ones should be as well, and connected in parallel.
If a button in the key switch is normally closed, then the added ones should also be, and should be connected in series.

probably need a centre off, non-latching switch wired in parallel. then indoor switch would be up for up and down for down

Yes, just use same style key switch and copy the connections (ie. in parallel)
Depending on how the door motor is controller is set up the two operating stations may need to be interlinked properly to prevent operation of the up on one station if the down down is operated on the other station and vice versa
