The browns are odd, where is it connected within the consumer unit.

Isn't the brown connected to the outer sheath of the supply combining the neutral and earth? It looks like a looped supply too. My experience is with utilities though...

The brown from the bottom of the earth block goes into the consumer unit.

Not according to that little green notice.

They've jointed that brown 'earth wire' to neutral, then.
It's a case of understanding why??.....with what looks like tn-s available.
Think I'd be getting the snips out....although that N seal looks dodgy anyway.

See plenty of old TN-S supplies changed like this but not with a brown.
