Hey Shaun: Don't know how close they are to you, but there's a place in Bolton called RH Rewinds. Never used them myself but they seem pretty clued up & fully equipped to test / repair motors. Just had a look on their website & they say they prefer to repair motors, rather than replace them. May pay to give them a ring if they're close.

Iv been to one and he was more keen knocking a bigger size motor in to me and the is another near me but it would be cheaper replacing it then him he wanted 35quid for a 80 uf+- 5 capacitor

With the company I told you about last week, they were quite reasonably priced. Even on the bay, a 75uf 450v start cap is only £15.

When i said motor repair shop, i was thinking of a decent reputable firm Not a little back street one man band.
The sort that repairs rather than replaces, unfortunately i've always found that with motor repair, most of the back street places just want to sell motors.

are they owned by dyson? they will sell you a £90 motor when you ask them if they supply £2 set of brushes.

If you want Dyson bits tel, use Manchester vacs. That's where i buy all mine, probably won't get motor brushes though. The motors are classed as throwaway, but Stu is cheap for them.

both dysons have gone where they belong, down to the tip. now got a henry and a kirby.

Still got my Dyson dc01.
It's like triggers broom.
I bought it 20years ago and its,still going strong.

Bought my DC14 as faulty for £15 with all attachments, two years ago. New belts & filters came to a tenner, thing is still running like a dream
Picked up a DC01 & DC07 from another guy for £7 the pair, will get around to fixing them one day lol.
