Thank you,Because the boiler sw/l is backfeeding through the valve to effectively latch it open in the mid position. It won't move to ch only until it gets a hw off signal.

I would need to drain system anyway so might as well fit 3 x 2 ports!!

To be honest I'd be advising the customer to get the plumber back to put right his bodge up, or else I'd be calling him direct.
One day they might even manage to learn the basics of how these systems function!
I will be calling myself then?? lol
TBH it was the electrician who was meant to wire it up but he didn't know how to do it so refused to do it!! But I cant blame just him though as I should of known that it doesn't work on 3 port valve!! plumbers hey!!
I'd strongly recommend a new electrician then! This is a very basic circuit which an electrician working in the domestic sector really should understand
