Hello all on the new forum (where's the full smiley page, I liked that!)
I have been asked to quote for some underfloor heating. It is more of an after thought from the customer as I am due to wire up the new kitchen she thought she may as well have a quote for UFH, although she doesn't think she will go for it. The base is concrete, the flooring will be oak boards and the room is a kitchen.
Usually I install the FCU and thermostat/controller and the builder deals with the actually heating mat, sub floor and tile adhesive etc on top of the mat, I stay out of that part!
My questions are:
1. Could this heating foil (http://www.warmup.co.uk/products/electric-underfloor-heating/foil-heater-system/) just be layed straight on to the concrete floor or do you HAVE to have the insulation boards?
2. Can you just lay the flooring underlay straight on top of the foil? The flooring will be oak floorboards.
3. Are there any other options for this scenario which don't involve screed/cement etc? Any cheaper options than warmup?
Cheer all.
