I've heard many a time on here that people don't understand three phase enough to work on it.
Im just wondering what exactly people don't understand?

Says a lot for having a domestic and commercial electrician grades
That's the problem. Lighting fault in a 2 up 2 down or breakdown of a ten colour printing machine worth ÂŁ6million.....still the same rate per hour for me. No justice. But I know where the interest lies.

The above is something I've been working on today (simplified) anyone know what it is?

everyone calm down , you've all missed the sunday nite deadline for bad tempered posting :-D
i'll try and wrap this up with something constructive.
Tony and Eng54 have a great deal of knowledge on the actual workings of voltage systems of 400v and beyond so no-ones gonna bluff anyone.
For blue collar sparks like you and me we should strive to understand the basics so as to work safely and become competant in designing our own installations.
The best way of doing this is to get proper teaching and read books , you simply cant learn the fundamentals from doing a couple of years on the tools.

and lets face it , 3 phase theory never makes a good forum topic lol.

Not quite. It's an electronic schematic of a six-phase star rectifier circuit. Used in an electro-filter, it charges plates to attract dust from passing air flow.

Sweet.

Saw the reccies and just went for the obvious.:cheesy:
