unistrut lighting system

Hi in a factory with old t8 light fittings fitted and wired on a unistrut system.The job is to replace them with led fittings i suggested removing the unistrut replacing it with 50/50 galv trunking the factory boss wants to leave the unistrut to save time and money and rewire and fit new fittings to the existing unistrut any thoughts

yea there is no cpc and looks like the unistrut is the earthing.I think Snowhead is correct it dates to the 70/80 time period.Will give the boss all the options as discussed thanks for all your help everyone

From what I see in the photos the unistrut looks like it's in good serviceable condition and looks to be competently installed. As already mentioned it may be that it's also being used as CPC.

From the info given by others in this thread it doesn't sound like it would warrant any kind of non-compliance coding so if they're not keen on replacing with trunking I personally wouldn't see a problem with the unistrut staying if the earth impedance tests are good or can easily be restored by installing an additional CPC wire.
